Steam cleaning – tried and true

Modern steam cleaning machines have come a long way since their invention in the 1700s. Our advanced, truck-mounted carpet steam cleaning machines provide a deep, thorough clean that removes dirt, stains, and bacteria without leaving behind dirty water. Ideal for homes with heavy foot traffic or deeply soiled carpets, steam cleaning ensures a refreshed and sanitised result.

Key benefits include:

  • Deep cleaning for carpets, rugs, and high-traffic areas
  • Pre-vacuuming to remove dry soil and prepare fibres
  • Quick-drying process for your convenience

Low moisture cleaning – also tried and true!

For a thorough, sanitising clean with super-fast drying time, our low moisture cleaning method is an excellent option for many busy homes.   Our low moisture method sanitises carpets using encapsulation products and orbital machines to loosen dirt with minimal water. It’s touch-dry in less than an hour, so you can quickly return furniture without worrying about damp carpets.

Perfect for:

  • Busy homes and apartments
  • Spot cleaning or a combination with steam cleaning
  • Maintaining carpets between deep cleans

Carpet cleaning FAQs

  • What types of carpet cleaning do you offer in Christchurch?

We provide both steam cleaning and low moisture cleaning, tailored to your carpet type and needs for the best results.

  • How long will it take for my carpets to dry?

Drying times vary depending on carpet type, condition, cleaning method, ventilation and ambient temperature.

    For instance:

    • Wool carpet may take longer to dry than nylon
    • Heavily soiled carpet requiring more intensive product use, flushing and extraction may take longer to dry than a lightly soiled carpet
    • Cleaned carpet in a warm and well-ventilated room (ie. windows left open enough to create airflow) will dry more quickly than if the room is very cold and/or closed up
    • The low moisture method of cleaning will leave the carpet virtually dry, whereas steam cleaning is likely to leave the carpet damp for a time

If you’ve experienced being left with a very wet carpet after a previous cleaner, rest assured we will never do this.

  • Do you handle tough stains and odours?

Absolutely! We like nothing more than fully removing an unsightly stain!

Our team specialises in accurately evaluating stains and odours and choosing treatment/s best suited to your carpet.

Our honest appraisal and treatment options will take into account your carpet age and type, the cause of the stain or odour, and if any DIY remedies have already been tried.

  • What about pollen, printer toner, liquid ink, paint, and oil?

Do not add water or any liquid to these stains, nor domestic spot treatment products.

For pollen and printer toner, vacuum up loose pollen or toner by holding the vacuum hose pipe around 0.5 to 1 inch above the carpet, and move it back and forth above the affected area.  Don’t run the vacuum cleaner head over the area, nor drag the edge of the hose pipe over it. Remove what you can and call us if some remains.

For liquid ink, paint and oil spills gently blot only to absorb the excess, and call us or your insurer for next steps.

  • What are your top tips for managing a spill?

The sooner you address a spill, the better your chances of avoiding permanent stains.

For pollen, printer toner, liquid ink, paint or oil  DO NOT follow the instructions listed below; instead, refer to the FAQ above: What about pollen, printer toner, liquid ink, paint, and oil?

For most other spills, here's a quick step-by-step guide:

Scrape solids: Gently scrape solid matter toward the centre without pushing it deeper into the fibres.

Blot liquids: Use a clean, white cloth to soak up as much liquid as possible.

Dilute and step: Pour warm water over the spill (250 - 500ml at a time for a small to medium spill), cover with folded towels, and step on them to absorb moisture. Repeat until absorbed moisture looks clear.

Pet accidents: For fresh pet stains, repeat the process several times to prevent odour and staining.

Use detergent cautiously: A drop of detergent can help, but too much can leave a new stain.

No scrubbing: Never rub the carpet—it can damage fibers and make the stain permanent.

If you're unsure, give us a call on 0800 566 576 for advice.

  • Can you remove furniture indents?

Yes, furniture indents respond well to the indent reversal treatment we use and can (at the least) be greatly improved so they’re far less noticeable.

  • Will carpet cleaning get rid of fleas? What about carpet moth?

You’ve come to the right place! We can definitely help with these. Just jump over to our Carpet Pest Control page for more information.

  • How often should I get my carpets cleaned?

Manufacturers recommend ‘regular’ professional cleaning of carpet. What does that mean exactly?

This can differ greatly from one home to the next.

Many people find 12-month or 24-month cleans keeps their carpet looking its best.

How often you choose may be based on:

    • whether there are pets, young children or teenagers in the home
    • the frequency of food and drinks spills, and
    • whether outside shoes are work in the home or not.
  • Do you clean rugs?

We want to say yes whenever possible, but for your protection and ours we always take into account:

    • Manufacturer’s cleaning instructions (usually outlined on a label on the back of the rug)
    • Size, condition and location of the rug
    • Any risk factors such as dye-run, viscose or silk content.
  • We may make an insurance claim. Can you help?

Yes, insurance companies are often very happy for us to provide you with the professional service you require.

We recommend you check with your insurer first.

We liaise directly with you on all matters, and receive payment from you at the time of service which can be deducted from your excess in the event of a claim.

If required, we provide a report on the damage and the work we carried out, and any relevant recommendations which you can then provide to your insurer in the event of a claim.

  • Are your cleaning products safe for pets and kids?

Yes, it’s important to us that the products we use are safe for all in your household, both during the cleaning process and afterwards. Our go-to products are friendly for people, pets and the environment too! They are only lightly scented to enhance the freshness of your clean space.

Sometimes we need to use other products for tougher stains. If anyone in your household has product sensitivities, let us know so we can decide on an option you’re happy with.

We also keep in stock a range of low-VOC products for use when significant sensitivities are a concern. Chat with us about these products when you call.

  • We’ve had a flood. Can you help?

Yes, we can take care of drying wet carpet, and any affected underlay, skirtings and subfloor.

But if it may become an insurance claim, we recommend you advise your insurer first.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

For your convenience and ours, we bring mobile Eftpos for payment at the time of service.

Payment can be made using debit or credit cards.

Non-PayWave debit card transactions are free.

Bank surcharge applies to PayWave and credit transactions.

Online payment can also be made at the time of service.
